Gatwick miniatures models 1/144 complete kit resin + white metal for undercarriage
The only plastic kit available is the Revell Fokker 100, nevertheless it can be easily modified to a MK1000. The
picture belows shows a F-100 fuselage and wing before and after being modified to a MK1000 dimentions following the intructions stated in the bottom. A resin replacement of the engines is also available to make the
conversion easier.

HOW DO I CONVERT A F100 into a F70 or a F28? Written with the valuable input of Johan van Hasselt. For updates or corrections, e-mail LHerjean@compuserve.com
The dimensions refer to a 1/144 model Specifications Length Wingspan
F28-1000 89'10¾", 27.40 m 77'4¼", 23.58 m F28-1000C Same as F28-1000 with a forward freight door on the port side.
F28-2000 97'1¾", 29.61 m 77'4¼", 23.58 m
F28-3000 89'10¾", 27.40 m 82'3", 25.07 m (no leading edge slats)
F28-4000 97'1¾", 29.61 m 82'3", 25.07 m (no leading edge slats)
* F28-5000 89'10¾",27.40 m 82'3", 25.07 m (with leading edge slats)
* F28-6000 97'1¾", 29.61 m 82'3", 25.07 m (with leading edge slats)
F70 101'4½", 30.91 m 92'1½", 28.08 m
F100 115'10¼", 35.31 m 92'1½", 28.08 m * The F28-5000 was never produced. Two -6000s have been produced but never delivered to a customer. Both were modified
to -4000s and delivered to Air Mauritanie (one has crashed in bad weather).
Wing modifications: This is probably the easiest thing to do. From the 1/144 Revell F100: for a F70: no modification; for a -3000, -4000, -5000, -6000 wing: remove 0.49", 10.4 mm from each wingtip;
for a -1000, -1000C, -2000: remove 0.62", 15.6 mm from each wingtip. for all F28s, add a leading edge wing fence half way between the fuselage and the first trailing edge fairing. On the F70 and F100, the wing
fence is shifted in front of the first trailing edge fairing and looks smaller than on the F70 / F100 - beware, it is missing on the Revell kit!
The shape of the wingtips of the F28 is different from the F70/F100: they are more rounded. Also the wingchord the F70/F100 is slightly bigger as larger leading edges are fitted.
Stabilizer modifications: Looks like on a F28 the sabs are shorter than on the F70/F100. Cut them all the way to the outer edge of the elevators - OK, this is my
own eyeballing, right The shape of the stabilizertips of the F28 is different from the F70/F100: they are more rounded of.
From the 1/144 Revell F100:
For a F70: remove 15 mm (5 windows) forward of the wing and 14.8 mm (almost 5 windows) aft of the wing. Out of the three cargo
doors of the F100, the middle one is deleted on the F70 (just forward of the wing). The relative position of the forward cargo door with the nose seems to
change very shlightly (backwards) but I wouldn't worry at 1/144. Delete the forward over wing exit - but keep the window.
For a F28-2000, -4000, -6000: remove 24 mm (7 windows) forward of the wing and 17 mm (5 windows) aft of the wing.
For a F28-1000, -1000C, -3000, -5000: remove 31.5 mm (9 windows) forward of the wing and 23 mm (5 windows + the rear over wing
exit and its extra spacing) aft of the wing. Delete the rear over wing exit. Where the deleted exit occupied the space of two normal
windows, the two windows should be re-established. On the freighters, blank out windows 2 and 6 - this is where the cargo door edges are.
Engines:
RR Tays power the newer F70 and F100. The older F28 is powered by RR Speys, smaller in diameter.
A not too bad replacement for the original Revell Tays is a set of Airfix Caravelle RR Avons - cut their exhausts. Not quite the right thing but with a bit of work they should look fine.
