En el año 1993 Aeroperú fue privatizada, Aeromexico tomó control de esta compañia intruduciendo un nuevo esquema muy similar al suyo propio así como los primeros B727 de la serie 200,
trece aviones usaron este nuevo esquema hasta el final de Aeroperú en el año 1999.
